Talk of the Sound wrote this article where they clarified that the Mayor of New Rochelle was not planning after all to attend the Agenda 21 Rio+20 conference. They had reported (certainly accurately) that Mayor Bramson was attending.? Apparently he changed his mind:
While it is our conclusion that a correction is not in order, we do want to make a clarification and we offer it here: Mayor Noam Bramson has stated that he was not aware of any such conference, never intended to go and never said publicly or privately that he planned to attend.
I think activists in New Rochelle and other cities, counties and towns need to ask their municipal leaders:? Are anyone going to attend Rio+20 on behalf of our community?? Regardless of the answer, ask them to defund the travel budget for this event.? There?s other needs in the community to fulfill:? Schools, roads, traffic lights etc.? It?s unconstitutional for a local official to attend anyway.? Starve the beast!
