If you want your child to be a good public speaker ensure they have a healthy diet, get enough exercise and sleep well. As public speaking can be demanding of mental energy your child will need to be in a healthy state.

We break the age range of kids down into three groups; 7 to 10, 11 to 14 and 15 to 18.?Your child?s diet and exercise will vary according to their age but the positive effect of a healthy body and lifestyle will be the same. Below we look at how healthy lifestyles can increase your child?s chances of becoming a great public speaker.

Omega 3-To keep your child?s brain functioning at optimum level, provide them with a diet rich in Omega 3 oil. This can be ?found in suitable quantities in salmon, mackerel, sea bass, trout and herring. Provide your child with one or some of these fishes two to three times a week.

Sleep- Eight hours sleep is the recommended amount. Some people may need less and actually find that eight hours can leave them feeling lethargic during the day. Some may also require a little more. If your child has difficulty sleeping at night, there could be a number of reasons. Giving them a glass of warm milk half an hour before bedtime, reading in bed, a balanced diet and enough exercise during the day should all help.

Exercise- ?From the research and writing of speeches to impromptu speaking, public speaking requires a healthy mind, sharp and focused with strong concentration. A healthy mind requires a healthy body. The one-hour a week that your child gets in Physical Education at school will not suffice. Encourage them to get involved in a weekly?sport and to walk regularly. Some of the greatest minds of recent times such as Steve Jobs and Stephen Fry have advocated the benefits of walking for mental stimulation. The Romans also said that the best ideas come when one is physically active.

So, to help your child get the most from public speaking, provide them, as best as you can, with a healthy lifestyle.
